10 Weeks

1 Year Anniversary wedding cake topper with Ahgi 7 1/2 weeks

Jeremy cooking some turkey bacon for a salad

These are a few pictures of our first sonogram we did with Catherine @ Dallas Pregnancy Center! 7 1/2 weeks

Today Jeremy took a 1/2 day at work and we drove down to our doctor's office for our official sonogram. (Since my friend Catherine is a nurse @ Parkland Hospital, she also volunteers @ Dallas Pregnancy Center, so we got a sono. @ 7 1/2 weeks just for fun!).

Well we arrived on time and had went into the sono. room. Seeing sweet Ahgi at 10 weeks was absolutely amazing. We have been reading how all the arms and legs have fully formed in the books, but to SEE Ahgi moving around kicking and moving was so surreal!!!

Ahgi at 10 weeks-Everything appears great! What a blessing!

Well then the other nurse called us back to let us know our doctor got called away to a delivery, so we have rescheduled the official physical and dr. appointment for July 28th! Well here's a few pics! We are so excited to see a strong heartbeat! I am feeling a little better now. The first 6 weeks were easy! Weeks 6-9 have been the hardest. The past couple, I have been able to work out and it's felt great!!! My biggest struggle is wanting to eat! I have NO appetite! Thank goodness for that yolk sack! :) Looking forward to the weeks to come!

Ordained Appointments

I am in awe at this moment and couldn't wait to share the amazing night God allowed me to be apart of. As the Anglican Church has begun to grow and plant churches all over the world, reaching out to all people-They are mission churches from Africa.

Tonight, the Anglican Church invested the first Archbishop of North America and has UNITED all Anglican Churches in North America!

Our home church, Christ Church, was the host of this historical event and I feel so blessed to be apart of the worship and message preached.

The Archbishop of Kenya was present and the entire service I was praying, asking God to give me a chance to meet him. After the worship service, Jeremy and I walked outside and sat down at a table...little to behold, the Archbishop Nzimbi sat down right next to us. To have the chance to listen to his wisdom, his life in ministry and practice a few Swahili words put me on cloud 9!!!! I couldn't stop smiling and even now feel the warmth of Africa fill my veins!

One Day....God will reveal his Mighty plan for my husband and I...until then we will be faithful servants and pray for the lost world!!!

67And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,
68"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
for he has visited and redeemed his people
69 and has raised up a horn of salvation for us
in the house of his servant David,
70 as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, 71 that we should be saved from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us;
72 to show the mercy promised to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant,
73 the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
74that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve him without fear,
75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
76And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
77to give knowledge of salvation to his people
in the forgiveness of their sins,
78because of the tender mercy of our God,
whereby the sunrise shall visit us[a] from on high
79to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace."

"Watoto"

Watoto-plural form of child in the Kiswahili language...

Watoto-the children who have captured my heart and brought healing to my soul

Watoto-the future leaders of Africa

Watoto-the many child soldiers who lost their innocence due to a man by the name of Joseph Kony

Watoto-the children who God has called to be His very own

Watoto-the children who God desires to be rescued, forgiven, set free and restored

Watoto-an organization in Uganda, founded by Marilyn Skinner and her husband...

www.watototo.com

Watoto-God's answer to a new revolution....
"For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are, that no man should boast before God.  But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, that, just as it is written "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord"".  1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Choose us Lord, help us to remember "We who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves.  Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.  For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached thee fell upon me."  Romans 15:1---Give us strength for YOUR work, for YOUR service and not for Status in this world!

Be My Valentine

GO BACK to FEBRUAR 14, 2003-Anyone who knows me, knows I was sitting curled up in my bathtube bawling my eyes out because my boyfriend of 3 years and some months had just broken up with me ON VALENTINE'S DAY!!!  So little to say, V-D has always had a sour taste in my mouth!  I would always tell myself that I would want a person to do loving things and show me he loved me on days that weren't assigned as "LOVE YOUR WIFE or HUSBAND"

Ok, now fastforward 6 years and I am so blessed to have a husband who loves me each day of my life

Jeremy surprised me with a wonderful Valentine's Treat!  He kidnapped me Friday night and told me to get dressed up to go back to our hotel we spent our Wedding night, NYLO HOTEL in Plano.

Romantical Events of the Holiday:
  • parking in the same spot we did on our wedding night...he remembered all the things that were going on that night...I didn't because I think I was too tired!!!
  • reserving the same room we had on our wedding night
  • asking me to pose in the same places we had taken pictures
  • a romantic wait...it was so nice to have 40 minutes to sit and visit waiting for our table
  • a delicious dinner and glass of Chardonnay
  • a wonderful evening
  • waking up to the natural sunlight-NO ALARM!!!  and nowhere to be!!!
  • tons of cuddling

Then Valentine's Day, we got to spread the love to our apartment complex and pass out Valentines to all the neighbors and host a Valetine's Weekend breakfast!  We also go to watch Jeremy's Uncle Perry play in a winery and enjoy the evening with his family.

Cupid has come a long way in 6 years !!!

My Special Mother Gift

"Legacy of an Adopted Child"

Once there were two women who never knew each other.
One you do not remember,
the other you call mother.
Two different lives
shaped to make yours one.
One became your guiding star
the other became your sun.
The first gave you life
and the second taught you to live in it.
The first gave you a need for love
the second was there to give it.
One gave you a nationality
the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,
the other gave you an aim.
One gave you emotions,
the other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile,
the other dried your tears.
One gave you up
It was all that she could do
the other prayed for a child
And God led her straight to you.
And now you ask me through your tears,
the age old questions, through the years,
Heredity or Environment, which are you the product of?
Niether, my darling, neither,
Just two different kinds of love.

Wearing my mother's mom engagement ring

Happy Birthday Mom!  You are the most faithful servant of Jesus Christ that I know! Rose of Sharon, faithful child of the Most High God, thank you for choosing to be my mother here on Earth.  Thank you for teaching me everything I needed to know about Jesus!  Thank for you all those make-believe stories, even the one about the boy who got his finger stuck in his nose and had to sniff pepper to sneeze it out!  The rocking chair was such a magical place to tell stories!  I will always be indebted to you for the way you raised me up to know Jesus, to believe in His love and follow Him as a disciple!  Thank you for all the stuffed animals you bought me on Valentine's Day, for every lunch you packed through high school, for every special picture and note drawn on my lunch!  Thank you for being an example of how to submit to your husband, but stand up for biblical truth. ( I always smile when I think of the times you would get out the bible to show your point to Dad!  :)  Thank you for being my mom, God hand picked you just for me and I love you always!  Happy Birthday and enjoy your day!  I can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
Love, Katie Rose
